Itinerary

Transfer from Pokhara to Nayapul trailhead (90 minutes). Trek up through subtropical farmland to Ghandruk — one of Nepal's most beautiful traditional villages, home to the Gurung people and famous for its extraordinary views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The Gurung Culture Museum in Ghandruk provides excellent context for the community's history and relationship with the mountains. Walking time: 4–5 hours. Meals: All included.

Contour along the ridge above the Modi Khola gorge towards Australian Camp. The views throughout this section are exceptional — the full Annapurna massif visible from west to east, with Machhapuchhre's extraordinary Fishtail summit at eye level. Australian Camp's meadow setting at 2,012 metres is one of the finest viewpoints in the Annapurna foothills. Walking time: 4–5 hours. Meals: All included.

Sunrise from Australian Camp — at 2,012 metres, the morning light on the Annapurnas is magical and completely uncrowded. After breakfast, the trail descends and traverses the ridge through forest and farmland to Sarangkot — Pokhara's famous paragliding and sunset viewpoint above Phewa Lake. Walking time: 4–5 hours. Meals: All included.

The final sunrise — from Sarangkot at 1,592 metres, overlooking Phewa Lake, the Annapurna chain reflected in the still water below. After breakfast, descend to Pokhara for your onward journey. Airport transfer as required. Walking time: 1 hour. Meals: Breakfast.

Essential Tips

The best seasons are Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November). Spring brings rhododendron blooms and stable weather; Autumn offers crystal-clear post-monsoon visibility. Nepal trips in these windows deliver optimal mountain views.

This trip is rated Easy. Suitable for beginners with basic fitness — walking 3-4 times per week for 4-6 weeks is adequate. No technical experience needed.

Most nationalities get Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport for USD 30 (30 days). Indian nationals do not require a visa.

Required permits and TIMS card arranged by Mantra Adventure. No extra hassle for you.

Included: Airport transfers; domestic flights/transport per itinerary; all trek accommodation; all meals during trek; English-speaking guide; porters (1 per 2 trekkers); all trekking permits; Mantra Adventure duffel bag. Not included: International flights; Nepal visa; personal travel insurance (mandatory); personal gear; tips.

For Australian Camp & Sarangkot Trek (Easy): Regular walking or swimming 3×/week for 6 weeks is sufficient. You should be comfortable walking 5-6 hours on uneven terrain.

Maximum altitude is 2,012m / Australian Camp. At this elevation, altitude sickness is uncommon for healthy trekkers who follow our paced itinerary. Walk slowly, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol initially.
