Itinerary

Pokhara is Nepal's most beautiful city — a lakeside resort town with the full Annapurna Range visible across the water. Your Mantra Adventure guide leads a comprehensive day tour of the city's highlights, beginning before dawn for the Sarangkot sunrise viewpoint (1,592m above the city) where the entire Annapurna massif and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) catch the first light of dawn — one of Nepal's most photographed and most beautiful moments. Return for breakfast, then a morning boat ride on Phewa Lake to the Tal Barahi Island Temple — a small Hindu shrine on an island in the centre of the lake with the mountains reflected in the water. Afternoon visits to the David Falls (where a river drops into an underground gorge), the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave (a sacred Hindu cave system), and the International Mountain Museum — the finest museum dedicated to the history of Himalayan exploration anywhere in the world, with exhibits covering the first ascent of every 8,000-metre peak. Evening: lakeside dinner with the Annapurna Range catching the last light. The World Peace Pagoda on the ridge above the lake at sunset rounds off a perfect Pokhara day. Meals: Breakfast, lunch.

Essential Tips

The best seasons are Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November). Spring brings rhododendron blooms and stable weather; Autumn offers crystal-clear post-monsoon visibility. Nepal trips in these windows deliver optimal mountain views.

This trip is rated Easy. Suitable for beginners with basic fitness — walking 3-4 times per week for 4-6 weeks is adequate. No technical experience needed.

Most nationalities get Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport for USD 30 (30 days). Indian nationals do not require a visa.

Required permits and TIMS card arranged by Mantra Adventure. No extra hassle for you.

Included: Airport transfers; domestic flights/transport per itinerary; all trek accommodation; all meals during trek; English-speaking guide; porters (1 per 2 trekkers); all trekking permits; Mantra Adventure duffel bag. Not included: International flights; Nepal visa; personal travel insurance (mandatory); personal gear; tips.

For Pokhara Day Tour (Easy): Regular walking or swimming 3×/week for 6 weeks is sufficient. You should be comfortable walking 5-6 hours on uneven terrain.

Maximum altitude is 822m / Pokhara. Altitude sickness is a real risk above 3,500m. Our itinerary includes acclimatisation days and our guides carry supplemental oxygen. Diamox can be taken as prophylaxis — consult your doctor. Emergency evacuation insurance is mandatory.
