Itinerary

Pre-dawn transfer from your Kathmandu hotel to the domestic terminal (Terminal 2) at Tribhuvan International Airport. Your pilot conducts a weather check — Himalayan flying windows are narrow and your flight is timed to depart before 7am when conditions are most stable. Take-off at approximately 6:15am in a modern, high-altitude helicopter. The flight path takes you east over the Kathmandu Valley and into the Khumbu region, with the world's highest peaks growing larger ahead. Flying past the glaciated flanks of Numbur and into the Khumbu, your pilot descends at Lukla for a brief technical stop before continuing up the valley. The helicopter lands at Everest Base Camp (5,364m) — the highest point most visitors ever reach in Nepal — for approximately 20–30 minutes. Step onto the Khumbu moraine, breathe the thin air at 5,364 metres, feel the scale of the Khumbu Icefall above you, and take photographs that most trekkers spend 13 days earning. For the return flight, the helicopter stops at the historic Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for breakfast — a meal with arguably the finest restaurant view on earth. Total flight time: approximately 4 hours return. All guests must weigh under 120kg. This is weather-dependent; a full refund is issued for weather cancellations. Meals: Breakfast at Everest View Hotel.

Essential Tips

The best seasons are Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November). Spring brings rhododendron blooms and stable weather; Autumn offers crystal-clear post-monsoon visibility. Nepal trips in these windows deliver optimal mountain views.

This trip is rated Easy. Suitable for beginners with basic fitness — walking 3-4 times per week for 4-6 weeks is adequate. No technical experience needed.

Most nationalities get Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport for USD 30 (30 days). Indian nationals do not require a visa.

Sagarmatha National Park (USD 30) + TIMS card (USD 20) required. All permits arranged by Mantra Adventure. No extra hassle for you.

Included: Airport transfers; domestic flights/transport per itinerary; all trek accommodation; all meals during trek; English-speaking guide; porters (1 per 2 trekkers); all trekking permits; Mantra Adventure duffel bag. Not included: International flights; Nepal visa; personal travel insurance (mandatory); personal gear; tips.

For Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour (Easy): Regular walking or swimming 3×/week for 6 weeks is sufficient. You should be comfortable walking 5-6 hours on uneven terrain.

Maximum altitude is 5,364m / Everest Base Camp. Altitude sickness is a real risk above 3,500m. Our itinerary includes acclimatisation days and our guides carry supplemental oxygen. Diamox can be taken as prophylaxis — consult your doctor. Emergency evacuation insurance is mandatory.
