Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
📍 Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu and meet your Mantra Adventure guide. The Three High Passes Trek — Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m) and Renjo La (5,360m) — is the ultimate Everest region circuit, combining EBC, Kala Patthar, Gokyo Lakes and three dramatic high passes. Evening briefing and welcome dinner. Meals: Dinner.
Day 2
Day 2: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla, Trek to Phakding (2,610m)
📍 Phakding
35-minute mountain flight to Lukla, then trek north through pine forest to Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River. First suspension bridges, first views of the Khumbu peaks above the valley walls. Walking time: 3–4 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 3
Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
📍 Namche Bazaar
Cross the Hillary Bridge and enter Sagarmatha National Park. The 600-metre climb to Namche through forest — with the first glimpse of Everest at the park gate viewpoint — is one of the great moments of Khumbu trekking. Walking time: 5–6 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 4
Day 4: Acclimatisation in Namche — Thame Valley Hike
📍 Namche Bazaar
Rest day with an acclimatisation hike west towards Thame — the birthplace of many legendary Sherpa climbers — for altitude exposure and views of Kongde Ri. The afternoon is free in Namche. Meals: All included.
Day 5
Day 5: Namche to Tengboche (3,860m)
📍 Tengboche
Trek through silver fir and rhododendron forest to Tengboche Monastery — the spiritual heart of the Khumbu, with an extraordinary 270-degree panorama of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Walking time: 5–6 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 6
Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)
📍 Dingboche
Descend past Pangboche — the Khumbu's oldest village — and climb through the barren Imja Valley above the tree line to Dingboche. The Lhotse South Face fills the valley head. Walking time: 5–6 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 7
Day 7: Acclimatisation — Nagarjun Hill (5,100m)
📍 Dingboche
Acclimatisation hike to 5,100 metres above Dingboche. Close views of Lhotse, Island Peak and Makalu. Essential altitude exposure before the three passes. Meals: All included.
Day 8
Day 8: Dingboche to Chhukung (4,730m) via Kongma La approach
📍 Chhukung
Trek east up the Imja Valley to Chhukung — a small settlement below the flanks of Island Peak. First views of the remote Imja Tse glacier. Meals: All included.
Day 9
Day 9: Cross Kongma La (5,535m) — The First Pass
📍 Lobuche
The highest of the three passes. An early start is essential for the steep climb to Kongma La — a rocky, snow-flecked col with views of Makalu, Baruntse and the Khumbu Glacier below. Descend to Lobuche. Walking time: 7–8 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 10
Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,160m), Visit EBC (5,364m)
📍 Gorak Shep
Trek to Gorak Shep then push to Everest Base Camp — the centrepiece of the entire circuit. The Khumbu Icefall towers above. Return to Gorak Shep for the night. Walking time: 7–9 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 11
Day 11: Kala Patthar (5,545m), Trek to Dzongla (4,830m)
📍 Dzongla
Pre-dawn ascent of Kala Patthar for the supreme Everest sunrise. Descend through Lobuche and veer west to Dzongla — a small lodge cluster below the imposing Cho La Pass. Walking time: 6–7 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 12
Day 12: Cross Cho La (5,420m) — The Second Pass
📍 Gokyo
The most technically demanding pass. A glacier crossing and steep icy scramble leads to the summit of Cho La (5,420m), with Cholatse and Lobuche East looming above. Crampons and poles strongly recommended. Descend to the turquoise Gokyo Lakes. Walking time: 7–8 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 13
Day 13: Gokyo Ri (5,357m) and Gokyo Valley
📍 Gokyo
Ascend Gokyo Ri for the finest 360-degree panorama in Nepal: Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and the vast Ngozumpa Glacier. Rest afternoon by the sacred lakes. Walking time: 3–4 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 14
Day 14: Gokyo to Lungden (4,380m) — Renjo La Approach
📍 Lungden
Trek west up the remote Bhote Koshi Valley — one of the least visited areas of the Khumbu — to Lungden, the base camp village for the Renjo La. Walking time: 4–5 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 15
Day 15: Cross Renjo La (5,360m) — The Third Pass
📍 Thame
The most scenic of the three passes. At the summit of Renjo La, both Gokyo Lakes and the Everest massif are simultaneously visible — a view matched nowhere else in the Himalaya. Descend to Thame, birthplace of Tenzing Norgay. Walking time: 7–8 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 16
Day 16: Thame to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
📍 Namche Bazaar
Retrace east through the Bhote Koshi Valley to Namche. Celebrate completing all three passes with apple pie and a well-deserved rest. Walking time: 3–4 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 17
Day 17: Namche to Phakding (2,610m)
📍 Phakding
Descend south through the national park and forest to Phakding. The lower altitude makes breathing noticeably easier. Walking time: 3–4 hours. Meals: All included.
Day 18
Day 18: Phakding to Lukla (2,840m)
📍 Lukla
Final trekking day and farewell ceremony with your Sherpa and porter crew in Lukla. Walking time: 3 hours. Meals: All included.

📍 Kathmandu
Morning flight to Kathmandu. Celebration dinner. Overnight: Kathmandu hotel. Meals: Breakfast, dinner.
